Lee Tannen is thrilled to announce that his bestselling memoir I Loved Lucy is at last an audio book narrated by the author himself and available on Amazon.com, Audible.com, and iTunes. Having been told in hard cover and trade paperback editions (still available from Amazon.com) and a successful stage adaptation at The Laguna Playhouse, I Loved Lucy tells the story of Lucy’s last ten years of life from the perspective and memory of one of her closest friends and confidants.

In 2007, Lee wrote a new libretto for the stage adaptation of the classic children’s story Dr. Dolittle, starring and directed by Tommy Tune. A year earlier, Mr. Tannen was a contributing writer for the Drama-Desk-nominated musical The Audience, produced in New York City for The Transport Group Theatre under the helm of Jack Cummings III.

In 2003, Lee was writer and Associate Director for Paparazzi, an original musical for Holland America Line directed by nine-time Tony Award winner Tommy Tune. In 2001, Lee wrote and co-directed All The World’s a Stage, a star-studded benefit for Variety Club at Carnegie Hall starring, among others, Barbara Cook, Nathan Lane and Tommy Tune and hosted by Jane Powell.

Lee’s television writing work includes two syndicated television shows on the world-famous Moscow Circus, as well as scores of commercials for Broadway shows and Radio City Music Hall. He has also written material for Joan Rivers, Elizabeth Taylor and Shirley MacLaine.

Mr. Tannen resides in Smith’s Landing, New York in the Hudson Valley with his partner Tom and their two shih tzus, Desiree and ‘Ohana.
